The South African Federation
A South African branch of Le Droit Humain was formed in 1914 in Durban. From there it spread to Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria. At the time of its inception and for many years after, South African Lodges were governed as an Administration under the British Federation. As membership and the number of Lodges increased, South Africa eventually achieved Federation status in 1995.
2014 marked the Centenary of the arrival of Le Droit Humain in South Africa. In Johannesburg a ceremonial gathering was held to celebrate those 100 years of history. This gathering was attended by South African Masons, the head of the order from Paris, together with international visitors from England, Australia and Finland
